For part one of our first give, team Bay Shore hosted a bake sale at the last Community Band concert. Because I play the tuba in the band, I was elected project manager for the first give. The only way to get this bake sale approved was to talk to the woman in charge of the concerts, and that is the president of the chamber of commerce, Mrs.Donna Perriconi. Calling people is scary, especially people that are older and respected members of the community. What helps me a lot when calling people I realized, is to write out what I want to say, so I don't blabber when I call people, and I can sound professional. My script helped a lot when I call Mrs. Perriconi, and she agreed to let us host the bake sale. Thanks to her generosity (and my newly found phone skills) team Bay Shore was able to raise 130 dollars at part one of our first give.
