What Makes you a PROUDgirl or woman?

I was diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa just over 3 years ago and am now healthy, happy, and about to graduate from college a year early!

What makes you unique?

Everything! I am Alexis Patricia Knight. Lover of all animals (except bugs!), I am a fighter, a care-giver, a friend, a daughter, a sister, and most importantly I am ME and there is no one else like me!

What or who inspires you?

My mother and father inspire me. After 30 years of marriage I can still see that spark of love in their eyes when they look at each other. As parents they have been nothing but the best. Three years ago they made the hardest decision of their lives by admitting my into the hospital for my eating disorder against my will; that decision saved my life!

Things you do to be a better person.

My biggest weakness is the ability to put myself in other peoples' shoes in situations I've never experienced. Because I am aware of this fault I am constantly listening to people, trying to gain understanding about situations to which I haven't been exposed. My dream is become a counselor and to do that I really need to be able to understand the situations people are in and that is why I try so hard!
